District Award Nomination Form

The Wright Brothers District Committee issues a number of awards to recognize the excellent level of service provided by our volunteers. All nominees must be currently registered in a Scouting program. Each individual award has a specific set of requirements:

 

Silver Cycle Award: For all registered Scouters who display leadership and service and are active in the District. This is the highest District-level award. Maximum that can be awarded are up to twelve (12) per District.

 

Couples Award: For Couple Scouters who display leadership and service in Scouting. Both must be registered and active in Scouts (Boy or Girl Scouts). Maximum that can be awarded are four (4) per District.

 

Unit Leader Award: For all registered Unit Leaders who are active in their units and display leadership and service in Scouting. This award is for a Unit Leader who is exceptional in their position in the Unit. The maximum number awarded is 10.

 

Newcomers Award: For all Scouters, new to their position, who show exceptional service. Maximum that can be awarded are up to twelve (12) per district.

Use the categories listed below to provide supporting information for the Nominee, no more than 500 words, please. An additional page may be attached with an outline of a person’s Scouting history (registration dates, positions, awards, responsibilities). Please be aware of the time period and requirements of each award noted on the reverse side of this form.

 

Leadership and Noteworthy Service to Youth in Scouting: This includes time and energy spent with individual Scouts, units, district, etc. Include training courses attended. You may include service to youth outside of Scouting in a separate category. Provide separately detailed reports, including dates, positions held whenever possible or attach an outline of an individual’s Scouting history.

 

Service to Youth Outside of Scouting: Time and energy spent positively influencing the lives of youth outside the sphere of Scouting. Volunteer service to organizations that support youth development should be included; i.e. sports, PTO, band.

 

Service to Community: Include time and energy spent outside of Scouting and in direct service to youth, that provides service to local service organizations and general community welfare. Volunteer service to local, regional, national, spiritual communities should be included; i.e. fraternal service groups, American Legion, church committees/ministries.
