National Awards
Centenial Quality Awards Program -
Background: The Centential Quality Unit Award is designed to recognize units, districts, councils, areas, and regions in achieving excellence in providing a quality program to a growing youth population in America at all levels of the Boy Scouts of America. Miami Valley Council Awards
Silver Beaver
Background: The Silver Beaver Award is presented upon action of the Miami Valley Council Executive Board for service to youth within a local Council or for longtime service to youth by a registered Scouter with service within several local Councils over an extended period of time. Normallly, the Silver Beaver is awarded for service to Scouting for at least ten years or longer.
Nominations are due by 1 November!
Adult Religious
Background: The Adult Religous Award is presented to those Scouters who have a record of outstanding service to youth through the Scouting program and have a high caliber of leadershp. They must have an active relationship with, and service in, a church our synagogue. The Scouter must be nomiated by a Pastor, Rabbi, Scouter or friend of Scouting, who is active in their church or synagogue. The nominator must document the Scouter's conribution to the spiritualization of the nominee's Scouting and religious activities.
There are several religious award catagories:
Roy D. Miller - Interfaith Committee on Scouting
St. George Emblem - National Catholic Committee on Scouting
Bronze Pelican - Archdiocese of Cincinnati
Nancy Buddendeck Award - Catholic Committee on Scouting
Shofar Award - Jewish Committee on Scouting

Wright Brothers District Awards
Scouters Training Award
Background: The Scouters' Training Award can be presently earned by the following groups of Scouters:
Boy Scouters: Assistant Scoutmasters, Committeemembers and the Chartered Organization Representative
Varsity Scouters: Assistant Coaches, Committeemembers and the Chartered Organization Representative
Venturing Leaders: Assistant/Associate Advisors, Committeemembers, Consultants and the Chartered Organization Representative
Sea Scouting Leaders: Mates, Committeemembers, Consultants, and the Chartered Organization Representative
District/Council Scouters: Cub Scout, Boy Scout, Varsity Scout, Venturing/Sea Scouting Roundtable/Huddle staff members.
There are different requirements covering basic training, performance, tenure, and certification for each award. Scouters earning the Training Award in one program area MUST complete ALL requirements (including tenure) for subsequent training awards in other program areas.
Completed Scouter Training Award Documents (including Committee Chairman signature) must be turned into the District Training Chairman
Scouters Key Award
Background: The Scouters' Key Award can be presently earned by the following groups of Scouters:
Boy Scouters: Scoutmasters
Varsity Scouters: Coaches
Venturing Leaders: Advisors
Sea Scouting Leaders: Skippers
District/Council Scouters: Cub Scout, Boy Scout, Varsity Scout Venturing Roundtable/Huddle Commissioners, Unit, Assistant District and District Commissioners, and District Committeemembers.
There are different requirements covering basic training, performance, tenure, and certification for the award. Scouters earning the Training Key in one program area MUST complete ALL requirements (including tenure) for subsequent training Keys in other program areas.
Completed Scouter Key Award Documents (including Committee Chairman signature) must be turned into the District Training Chairman
District Award of Merit
Background: The District Award of Merit is awarded by a District or Venturing Division to registered Scouters for service to youth in the District or Division. Normally, the award is presented for service to youth in excess of five years. Under special circumstances, a registered Scouter may receive a second District/Division Award of Merit for his or her service to youth in an reorganized District or Division or as part of another local Council (such circumstances are rare, but may be approved by a Council's Scout Executive).

Silver Cycle Award -
Background: The District Silver Cyclist is awarded to any registered Scouters who display leadership and service and are active in the District. Maximum that can be awarded are twelve (12) per District.

Couples Award -
Background: The District Couples Award is awarded to any registered Scouter Couples (Boy or Girl Scouts) who display leadership and service. Maximum that can be awarded are four (4) per District.

Unit Leader Award -
Background: The District Unit Leader Award is awarded to any registered Unit Leader who are active in their units and display leadership and service. Maximum that can be awarded are ten (10) per District.

Newcomer Award -
Background: The District Newcomer Award is awarded to Scouter, new to their position, who show exceptional service. Maximum that can be awarded are twelve (12) per District.
