Scout Sabbath: January 26, 2008 Area Scouts of the Jewish faith invite all Scouts to attend and participate in the Annual Scout Shabbat. The service will be held on the morning of January 26th, 10:30 AM, at Temple Israel at 1 Riverbend Drive (just North of the Korean Memorial). Tigers, Cubs, Webelos, Boy Scouts and Venturers of all faiths are welcome to attend this special event. Girl Scouts of all ages from Buckeye Trails Council are also welcome to attend. Summer Camp Chaplain 2008 We are now accepting applications from senior Scouters for this challenging position. You may have already seen the notice in our “SCOUTER” newspaper. Challenging work, modest pay, very few dull moments, and perhaps one of your greatest summers await the person awarded this position at Woodland Trails for 2006. 2008 CAR-A-VAN for Religious Understanding On May 4th of 2008, we will once again be traveling between several houses of worship, learning of faith practices which may differ from our own. Recall our Scout Manual, “A Scout is reverent toward God, faithful in his religious duties, and he respects the beliefs of others”. This year we will visit in the Tipp City area, starting at the Ginghamsburg Christian and visit three other houses of worship. Details and a map are forthcoming
Programs of Religious Activities for Youth (P.R.A.Y.) The P.R.A.Y. organization, which supports all the BSA Religious programs listed below, has a new Duty to God Promotion Patch program underway. You can visit their website for more details. Specific information is located here.

As a group of Scouters of diverse faiths, the committee's activities will be governed by Lord Baden-Powell's tenets of reverence to God, one's neighbor and one's self. Programs will promote the concepts of spiritual values, while at the same time teach religious tolerance. Events will be prioritized in recognition that spiritual values are key components of Scouting. "On my honor, I'll do my best to my duty to God and my Country" highlights our Scout Oath.
